Behold, humans! My new AI-generated headshots have arrived! It’s exciting and a little creepy to see how mathematical algorithms that were created from my real face were then used to create more images of “me”.

I paid $49 to a company called Secta Labs (affiliate link here) for those who are interested in giving this a try for themselves. Secta is one of a growing number of companies that offer AI-generated headshots. I chose them because a friend of mine posted about them on LinkedIn and shared some of her photos. I liked her images quite a bit and was intrigued.

So I jumped into the fray. Here’s what happened.

Results (Part 1)

I got my results within a few hours, but, unfortunately, the results disappointed me. Some of the mathematical equations that Secta’s AI had compiled from my face weren’t, uh… correct.

Ummm, NO.

I got images with:

• malformed lips & gums, or missing lips, teeth & gums
